Welded Wire Mesh is a method of reinforcing concrete using a mesh of high tensile steel bars which are resistance welded together. The bars used can be smooth, deformed or ribbed and are welded together using pressure and a high electrical current. The mesh is used as a eubstItution for the conventional method of reinforcement using loose bars tied together which Is both time consuming and inaccurate.
The welded fabric is characterised by the bar diameter; the main and cross one respectively, as well as by the mesh size area per metre width. In a welded wen fabric the main bars are distinguished from the cross ones. They can be to follows:
A; Single i.e formed by one round wire only.
B; Double i.e formed by two round wires of the same diameter which closely joined to each other (the distance between them being mu.01, equal to zero). The concrete reinforcement meshes of double or ty, i „ are obviously provided with a double bar in the length direction.

The steel rods used in the manufacture of wire mesh must fully comply with the physical and chemical requirements of various international standards. To ensure this is the case our factory is equipped with sophisticated testing equipment with which we carry out stringent quality checks. At regular intervals we also employ a third party testing agency to carry out the same checks and ensure the materials comply with the relevant standards.

The above tensile requirements exceed those generally used for high tensile bar reinforce¬ment. Thus sheets of our engineered mesh reinforcement may be used in place of bar reinforcement. Use of our ribbed mesh will also increase the bond characteristic of steel (by approx. 40% higher than plain bar reinforcement.)
